Since we first met Sera and Eric we quickly learned they, “Didn’t want their wedding to feel like a wedding!” but instead wanted a “a very sacred ceremony and experience followed by an equally intimate and fabulous party.” Being less tied to tradition, we avoided venues that were traditionally known as wedding venues and instead chose the Duquette estate in Beverly Hills which was the former residence of legendary set designer Tony Duquette. Guests entered a magical hidden courtyard before heading down to the ceremony in a sunken garden. The ceremony was set in the round so the couple could be truly surrounded by everyone involved. In lieu of traditional ceremony decor they choose to stand on a mandala which held significance to the couple and their history together. After the ceremony, guests were invited back to the garden for an over the top brunch followed by desserts and dancing. We dedicated an entire room to decadent sweets and in the end it was an experience that would put even Marie Antoinette to shame. After desserts, cocktails and coffee, the guests entered the home that held not only beautiful decor but lots of interactive surprises from palm and tarot readers to Vanity-Fair inspired portrait sessions and more. From there everyone joined the couple in the formal ballroom for cake and to dance the rest of the day away. Images below were created by Yvette Roman.
